In this workshop, you will learn how to make and carve your very own print. Block printing is a process in which a design is carved into a block and then used to stamp with ink onto paper. You will learn the basics of block printing and be able to take your own carving home that you’ve made yourself! No experience is required, we have a design already prepared for you (or you can draw your own if you’re feeling adventurous!) Come learn the magic of printmaking!

About Emily Tyman

Emily Tyman is a printmaker from Geneva, NY. She went to school for painting and took some courses that made her fall in love with printmaking. At the start of the pandemic, she started to teach herself block printing and hasn’t stopped since. She is inspired by children’s book illustrations and is influenced by her memories, grief, and the formative years of girlhood. She owns her own business, selling her artwork at craft shows around the Finger Lakes area. Currently, she is also an adjunct at the University of Rochester teaching painting.
