Designed for adult participants, this 3-session course introduces core painting skills through three key areas: value and design, color theory, and brushwork. Through a variety of exercises, participants will investigate light, composition, and color schemes while building control and personal expression using different painting techniques. The course culminates in a final project where each participant creates a painting of their own choosing, applying the skills they’ve developed.
Please note: participation in all 3 class sessions is mandatory

- Pre-registration for this class series is required, with tickets offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
- Class capacity is limited to 12 participants. No experience necessary.
- A $180 registration fee covers participation and materials for all 3 classes in the series. Please note that October 11th will be listed on your ticket in the registration window, but that participation in all 3 classes is included and required.

Materials Notes:
- All materials needed for this class series will be provided and are included in the cost of registration.
- Following completion of the class series, participants will get to keep their paints, brushes, paper pad, sharpie marker, palette, glazing medium, and completed paintings.
Instructor Bio:
Deborah Walsh is a dedicated artist and experienced art educator with a BFA in painting and MS in Education from Syracuse University. With a strong foundation in studio practice and pedagogy, she brings creativity, passion, and a deep understanding of the visual arts to the classroom. Deborah also serves as a docent at the Everson Museum of Art, sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for art and visual culture with diverse audiences. Her own artistic practice, primarily in acrylic paint, explores the interplay of light, transparency, and reflection, often focusing on metal, glass, and other reflective surfaces.
