Design and print your own custom tote bag using a DIY silk screening process! In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own screens using embroidery hoops and mesh, then transfer their designs using screen filler techniques. Once the screens are complete, participants will print their designs onto tote bags using ink and squeegees—learning a process they can easily recreate at home.

Participants will:

  • Understand the basics of screen printing
  • Learn how to create a DIY screen using accessible materials
  • Explore positive/negative space in design
  • Practice layering and stencil-building techniques
  • Print a custom design onto a functional tote bag

This workshop is taught by Everson Teaching Artist Cohort Teaching Artist Ashe Martin.
