Everson Teen Arts Council

The Everson is looking for enthusiastic, creative, and thoughtful high school students to serve on the Everson Teen Arts Council!

This is a unique opportunity for teens from Syracuse and surrounding areas to create and learn with the Everson Museum, gain valuable experience to add to their resume, and explore career paths in the arts.

This year, our Teen Arts Council (ETAC) will curate an exhibition from works in the Everson’s Permanent Collection to be hung in our Green Room gallery space for one month with an opening/teen night event they plan on June 24th. The cohort will work together to see the curation process from start to finish including researching artists and art movements, writing and designing wall text, planning where the artworks will be hung, and planning an opening reception event for fellow teens. Our Teen Arts Council will meet with the Museum’s curators, registrarial team, marketing team, facilities, and finance teams to learn more about different career paths in the arts.

The Everson Teen Arts Council is a partnership between the Everson and teens from local school districts, offering a safe platform for teens to share their voice, work with their peers, and engage with the greater community.
