The Everson Museum of Art Outreach Program brings the museum experience to the community by providing educational programming to increase understanding and appreciation of the arts through lifelong learning.
Who Do We Visit?
Our trained docents visit senior centers, hospitals, libraries, K-12 schools, and other community organizations with an emphasis on groups that are not able to visit the Museum.
Art Talks
Presentations cover a range of topics including the history of the Everson and its architecture, the Museum’s permanent collection, and special exhibitions.
Art Making
Art Making activities combine art making with discussion about art and artists from the Museum’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Participants can explore a variety of media including ceramics, sculpture, painting, drawing, collage and more. Group size is limited to fifteen allow maximum individual attention.
Visual Thinking Strategies:
Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) is an open-ended, inquiry-based, and engaging discussion about works of art.
How Much Does It Cost?
Art Talks and Visual Thinking Strategies presentations cost $75, and Art Making Activities cost $100. Partial scholarships are available on a need basis. Please inquire when scheduling your program.
How to Arrange a Visit?
Visits are available Monday through Friday beginning at 10:00am. Please note that all programs are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please send in an Outreach Request Form at least four weeks in advance of the requested program date so that we may accommodate your needs.

Virtual Everson Outreach
The Everson Museum of Art can come to you! Using Zoom video conferencing a Museum educator or trained volunteer will provide a Museum-themed lesson in real time (each session lasts approximately 30 minutes).
