Free Summer Community Day in Conjunction with Frank Buffalo Hyde: Native Americana
Saturday, August 19, 2023 | 10:00am – 5:00pm
Join us for a Free Community Day for people of all ages inspired by Native Americana, a homecoming exhibition by Onondaga artist Frank Buffalo Hyde.
Throughout the day, we’ll feature intergenerational performances and collaborative art activities inspired by Buffalo Hyde’s visually striking artworks.
Performances and activities include:
- Johnny Ray and the Stone Throwers
- Buffalo collage-making
- Gallery walk of Native Americana led by Frank Buffalo Hyde
- Musical dance by Haudenosaunee group, Katyohkwa
- And more!
Following the community day, join us on the plaza from 5:00-8:00pm for Freedom Fest 2023: Black August Urban, a performance by Johnny Ray and the Stone Throwers, and a screening of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever beginning at 8:00pm.
