Shape, Sculpt, and Glaze: A Hands-On Ceramics Experience

Discover the art of ceramics in this immersive three-week course at the Everson Museum of Art. Perfect for beginners and those looking to explore new techniques, this class offers a balanced introduction to both wheel-throwing and hand-building. Under the guidance of experienced ceramic artist Catherine Walsh, students will create their own pottery and finish their pieces with food-safe glazes. Completed works will be fired and ready for pickup in early April.

Class Details:

  • Fee: $180 (includes clay, glazes, and firing fees)
  • Instructor: Catherine Walsh, a trained ceramic artist with a BFA in ceramics and a master’s degree in art education. She has taught ceramics at Buffalo Art Studio, Terra Clay Studio, Pearl City Clayhouse, Chautauqua Institution, and Niagara Falls High School. In addition to creating her own work as Center Circle Ceramics, she serves as Manager of School and Family Programs at the Everson.
