Announcing the Winners of AN’s 2025 Best of Design Awards
Excerpt from The Architect’s Newspaper:
The results are in! After four months of open calls for submissions, weeks of review, and hours of deliberation, the 2025 Best of Design Awards have arrived.
Best of Design was inaugurated 13 years ago as a way to honor the impactful and meaningful work of architects and designers. Since then the program has blossomed as a way to not only give props to some of the thankless work of the community, but also as a way to survey the built environment. This year’s program saw an increase in submissions from younger and emerging firms than year’s previous, perhaps reflecting the pertinent and compelling point of view offered by younger architects. This is true across the board, including in the program’s Editors’ Picks and Honorable Mentions.
The achievements of all finalists are worth a round of applause. Take a look at the projects the jury deemed best of the best, and stay tuned for the final award in the program, Project of the Year.

“This is a creative and interesting project, and the fact that it has the stones to go up against an I.M. Pei building and do something that is boldly in contrast to it is admirable.” —Alex Bozikovic
