EVERSON MUSEUM OF ART ANNOUNCES CALL FOR QUILTERS
SYRACUSE, NY (February 26, 2016) – The Everson Museum of Art is pleased to announce a call for quilters to be part of their upcoming exhibition, WaterCRAFT. This exhibition invites quilters to explore and interpret the theme of water. Quilts will be judged on ingenuity, technique, artistry and presentation. Selected quilts will be exhibited at the Everson Museum of Art in summer 2016 alongside Creative Watercraft Design Challenge winners.
WaterCRAFT is inspired by contemporary artist Marie Lorenz’s summer journey along the Erie Canal and subsequent exhibition at the Everson Museum of Art in fall 2016. Beginning in summer 2016, Lorenz will travel by water from Buffalo to Albany via the Erie Canal and continue along the Hudson River to New York City, inviting passengers to accompany her daily.
