Syracuse, NY–A new addition at the Everson Museum in downtown Syracuse is trying to make art more accessible to young kids.

The Danial Family Education Center was unveiled Sunday as a place for hands on learning. The new center allows the museum to host programs all year long, and kids can even make ceramic art to take home at the end of the day.

The gallery will feature student pieces alongside art from acomplished artists.

Jessica Danial, the center’s namesake donor, says she hopes the space will inspire her kids’ generation to appreciate the arts.

“I want to have something my kids are proud of,” Danial said. “I want to have something to be proud of and I think bringing them here is really important.

The dedication of the education center is part of the Everson’s First and Forever fundraising campaign.
