Putting the “A” in STEAM: Syracuse City School District Students Take the Stage at the Everson

The Everson Museum of Art is proud to help put the “A” in STEAM by welcoming students from the Syracuse City School District to its auditorium for a historic moment: STEAM High School’s first-ever fine arts performance.

On Friday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m., STEAM High School students will present Roald Dahl’s Matilda: The Musical, bringing music, movement, storytelling, and technical theater into one of Central New York’s most iconic cultural spaces.

Hosting the performance at the Everson underscores the museum’s commitment to creativity as a core component of education. While STEAM emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and math, this collaboration highlights how the arts are essential to innovation, confidence, and expression, and how cultural institutions can serve as platforms for student voice.
