A lot is happening at the Everson Museum of Art in July. Here are five highlights:

1. Lunch with a View on Food Truck Fridays, July 1 to Aug. 12. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Enjoy some art while taking your lunch break on the beautiful Everson Community Plaza! Experience Kate Gilmore’s outdoor performance piece Touch like this, Hold like that while enjoying a variety of lunch options from local food trucks. 2. Meet Contemporary Artists at the Artist Open
July 14, 6.30 p.m. Free with Museum Admission

Joe Fyfe, Sarah Saulson and Liz Lurie, artists featured inKindred Beasts: The 2016 Everson Biennial, will share their materials and techniques through mini-demonstrations and open dialogue in the galleries.

3. Share a “Date Night” Under the Stars
July 21, activities start at 7.30 p.m., film plays at dusk. Free.
The Everson’s popular “Film Under the Stars” series returns this summer and kicks off with 80s classicDirty Dancing. Start the evening out by trying some salsa dancing with instructor Roberto Perez, grab dinner from a local food truck, and then settle in with your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the screening projected onto the side of the Everson building at dusk. Presented in partnership with Urban Video Project.

4. Explore the Museum on FREE Third Thursday
July 21, 5 to 8 p.m.
Everson Museum admission is FREE on the Third Thursday of every month from 5.00 – 8.00pm! Join a docent tour at 6.00pm to get familiar with our temporary exhibitions and permanent collection. This Third Thursday will also feature an Art Book Sale – guests can get great deals on rare and vintage art books from the Everson Museum Library. Proceeds benefit the Everson Museum.

 

5. Have Some “Hands-On” Fun at Crafty Hour
July 28, Drop-in between 5:30 and 7.30 p.m. (21+)
$5 Materials Fee plus Museum Admission
Think “paint & pour,” but with a crafty twist! Crafty Hours take place on the last Thursday of every month with a different art activity and beverages from local wineries. This month, learn how to make a fun felted brooch.
